ZZ Top

ZZ Top at Orpheum Theatre

Why see ZZ Top?

Bearded Rock Wizards ZZ Top Are On Tour!

The boys are back with a vengeance, bringing their red-hot blues-rock to you! Influenced by the likes of Johnny Lee Hooker and Muddy Waters, the Rock & Roll Hall of Famers infuse their classic blues riffs with the spirited, often humorous pursuit of worldly pleasures; look no further for catchy tunes about fast cars, sharp clothes and good times.

The band's sense of humor permeates through their music and onto the stage. Lead vocalist and guitarist Billy Gibbons is charming and self-deprecating, a perfect contrast to the high-energy, fast-paced licks and grooves he created with late bassist Dusty Hill (succeeded by longtime guitar tech Elwood Francis)  and drummer Frank Beard. Accompanied by stellar lighting design, their high-energy performance is not to be missed!

ZZ Top still brings it

Excellent venue and impeccable sound made for a great show even though they’re still getting their moves perfected. Elwood is a worthy continuation of our beloved Dusty, even visually fitting the bill. The big screens located at 10 and 2 were large enough, clear and colorful providing a front row type experience to all. I can only guess that the seats were just too comfy for the front and center audience as they sat on their hands the entire show, so folks just behind did too making this only the second time in my 40-50 shows that everyone stayed seated. The other was a Universal Studios show in early 1995. Incredible!!! About 30 rows back I was coming out of my skin, being considerate of those behind me. Perhaps the high prices of the front and center seats have closed out the genuine r n r folks. So the usual interaction between Billy and the front crowd was, sadly, missed. Too bad as he’s quite a character. ... Read more

Zztop rocks

What a treat to see the boys play Saturday night at the Venetian. Best show in 10 years. They started with got me under pressure and ended with Viva Las Vegas and jail house Rock.the Venetian acoustics were excellent. The sweet smell permeating the air was a nice bonus. Go see them before you can’t. ... Read more

ZZ Top is the legendary act they have always been... still!

Having seen them before.. indoors and outdoors for the venue... clowes hall on butlers campus is fairly quaint and quite easily accessed.. opening acts come and go but "the summit" which was the opener this time was very good... then come the bearded ones... seeming very polished and easy.. which I suppose 48 years together will do to an act. They amazed!! Entertained! And ROCKED!!! Billy Gibbons is still the worlds best and makes it look fun and easy... no angst or hostility.. just amazing blues rock that gets better with age!!! ...
